We were called out to do a roof replacement at the property. The crew arrived in the morning, got the roof torn off and all the wood replaced. During the shingling process, we struck an improperly installed AC line. These lines are not supposed to be placed against the sheathing of the roof unless they are backed by a metal strike plate. The customer called the AC repairman out and we were able to work with him to pull up a section of the roof for the line to be replaced. Typically, it is done through the attic but due to the location, it would be much easier to get through by opening a small hole in the roof. 

We were called to this customer's home to investigate leaking going on in multiple areas of the ceiling. The customer was seeing water stains in all across the back portion of the home. The roof was replaced about 16 years ago and it was an architectural shingle. Our rep took a look and the ceiling stains were lined up with a lot of the pipe collars on the roof. We spoke with the customer and he said he just had standard pipe collars installed and hasn't had them checked out. Typically the rubber gasket on these collars will only last between 12-15 years. After sending out our crew to change out the pipe collars we were able to confirm the areas were leaking as much of the sheathing directly around the collar was rotten. Be sure to check on your pipe collars and caulking as these will not last nearly as long as the shingles on your home
